‘Tooth-in-eye’ Surgery Restoring Sight to Blind Canadians
I was deeply honored to play a part in helping fundraise for the incredible surgery featured in the article linked below. It’s not every day that you get to witness lives being changed so directly and to be able to contribute, even in a small way, is something I’ll always carry with me.
I first connected with Dr. Greg Moloney through our mutual mentor, Dr. John Richards, a respected and now-retired corneal specialist. Dr. Richards has long been a guiding light in the field of ophthalmology, and it’s no surprise that his legacy continues through those he has mentored. In fact, it was Dr. Richards’ wife, Ginny, who first reached out and invited me to get involved in this effort. Her passion for helping others, especially in the realm of visual health, is inspiring.
Another key advocate in this journey was Donovan Tildesley, a tireless local champion for the visually impaired. His help and support in the fundraising efforts were instrumental in making this surgery possible.
It’s truly moving to see what can happen when people come together with a shared purpose. Thank you to everyone who played a part in making this life-changing moment a reality.
